button, button, who’s got the button?

What is that from, anyway?  I can *almost* recall it, but I’m only hearing the voice.

Chris from Serendipity Mine made a button for the novel writing thing next month.  It’s on the top right on her page, and if you scroll down you’ll see the code at the bottom.  I’m really happy she offered, because I’m not really sure how to make one even though I’m coming up on five years of blogging.  Something to put on the list of stuff to learn, right after how to make a banner.

I’d post it here now, but I just came back from a morning at the doctor, and now must quickly feed Willow and then rush over to the school for Nate’s penguin play which starts in less than a half hour.

Thanks, Chris!

The button thing is from an old children’s game. My grandmother used to play it in school. I never played it, but I remember her saying, “Button, button, who’s got the button?” and telling me about the game, where some kid would have a button in their hand and some other kid would have to figure out who in the class had the button. Sort of like “Heads up, 7-up” for the 1920’s.

Speaking of which, I teach high school now, and it totally cracks me up how every time we have a free moment (not often, but still) the kids still want to play “Heads up, 7-up.” 16-year olds.
